Sex: Male
History: Injured back at work July 1999. Developed back pain with radiation down left leg.
Examination:

  • SLR 45 degrees o left side.
  • Decreased sensation left big toe.
  • Slight weakness of dorsiflexion of foot.

Pre-op MRI
MRI of Lumbar spine showing left L4-5 disc protrusion.

Treatment: Left L4-5 discordectomy done. Excellent results for six months.

Progress: Patient now has recurrent left leg pain and back spasms x six months.

Post-op MRI
