Case 2 History
Presented by: Dr. Robert Brownstone Neurosurgeon, Halifax
Age: 40
Sex: Male
History:
March 1997: logging accident , T6/7 injury with complete paraplegia
Pain started within the 1st year, initially not extreme, but became progressively worse.
Constant, searing, below level pain (back: searing; legs: burning)
Spasticity not an issue.
Now, completely incapacitated from pain, (was previously very active in wheelchair)
Meds: gabapentin, amitriptylline, baclofen, zanaflex, etc. Nothing really helps.
