Case 17

Age: 39

Sex: Male

History: July 23, 2001-- Back pain on and off for years. Sprained his back again at work in early June. Back pain more severe and going down right leg. Right leg feels numb. Examination showed him to be very uncomfortable. SLR 30 degrees on the right side. Right ankle reflex absent. Sensation decreased in right S1 dermatome.


Pre op CT

CT of spine at L45 level showing no abnormality.


CT of L5S1 level of spine showing a large right L5S1 disc protrusion.
