Case 1

Age: 40

Sex: Female

History: Low back pain, numbness, and weaknes right foot March 1999. No history of malignancy.


Examination:

Showed SLP of 60 degrees on right side and moderate weakness of right plantar-flexion of foot. CT myelogram was done.


CT myelograms

CT myelogram done on March 1999 showing L5S1 Intradural-extramedullary mass.


Treatment:

An intradural-extramedullary mass was surgically excised. Histology consistent with metastatic carcinoma. Further investigation revealed Ca colon. Had abdominal surgery and radiation.


Progress:

She did very well till June 2000 when she developed very severe back pain.


Pre-op MRI

Treatment 2:

Laminectomy and excision of metastatic intradural extramedullary tumour. Similar to original lesion.
