Growth Hormone Secreting Pituitary Tumour

Case 6

Age: 20

Sex: Female

History: Headaches x 10 years. Decrease temporal vision x 2 weeks.


Examination

Alert. Orientated. Bitemporal hemianopsia. Mild acromegally. Serum growth hormone level greater than 40 micrograms per litre. (Normal level range 0.06 - 5 micrograms per litre).

Clinical diagnosis: Growth hormone secreting pituitary ademoma.

Treatment

Transphenoidal excision of tumour.
