Left Frontal cystic Astrocytoma

Case 4

Age: 46

Sex: Male

History: History of headaches x 6 weeks. Dyphasia x 3 weeks. Examination showed dysphasia and right hemiparesis

CT of head done with and without contrast. It showed a large left frontal mass with a cystic component and a lot of oedema, and a left to right shift. This appearance was felt to be consistent with a cystic astrocytoma.

January 25, 2006 - Dr. Chris Ekong, Neurosurgeon, Regina

Treated with Decadron, followed by craniotomy for the tumours. The diagnosis of astrocytoma was confirmed. Patient will be followed in cancer clinic.
