To Dr. F. Gentili, Dr. M. Schwartz and Dr. M. Tsao - August 17, 2001

Dear Mike and May:

This is a follow-up to the fax that I sent you today with regards to this

70-year-old man whom I saw yesterday with a one year history of left-sided

hearing loss. The MRI shows a left intracanicular acoustic neuroma. I have

suggested to him that one option for treatment is fractionated stereotaxic

radiation.

I would appreciate your opinion in this regard and acceptance of the patient

for further care.

Thank you.

Yours sincerely,

Chris

Dr. Mike Schwartz, Neurosurgeon, Toronto - August 23, 2001

Dear Chris,

May and I have just been going over the images on this patient.

We recommend that if his tumor is not growing, that he be followed with serial imaging. More than 2 mm growth in a year could be taken as an indication for treatment. The lesion is small and he is

elderly. A single dose radiosurgical treatment would be preferable.

Best regards,

May and Mike
