Age: 59

Sex: Female

History: May 9, 2004 - Sudden severe headaches
Examination: Initial GCS 13 (GCS improved to 15 in 4 days)
- Past history of SAH 35 years ago
- Treated then with right ICA occlusion

- R Carotid Termination Aneurysm

- Basilar Tip Aneurysm

This case was discussed at the Barrow Neurosurgical Institute Grand Rounds done in conjunction with the Medi-Fax Internet Rounds today.

Participants included Dr. Mike Tyminaski, Dr. Chris Wallace, Dr. Cameron McDougall, and Dr.Marie Long.

Consenss: Combined surgery and coiling.


May 24, 2004

Patient transferred to Toronto. Dr. Chris Wallace performed craniotomy for Anterior Communicating and carotid termination aneurysms. He found that it was the ACA aneurysm that bled.


May 28, 2004

Dr. Robert Willinsky treated the basilar tip aneurysm with coils using the new hydrocoils. She made an excellent recovery.


June 8, 2004

Patient returned hoe to Regina. We plan to do follow-up angio in one year.
